I started by drawing shar pei puppies, and playing with the idea of the puppy asking, 'what are wrinkles?'. Then i experimented with images of an iron, drawing the one in my flat which has been used maximum twice, ever! images of ironing out the word 'wrinkles' from fabric. I wasn't happy with either of these ideas, so decided to see what would happen if i combined them. The result was a scared dog and an slightly aggressive iron! i looked at Dilbert by Scott Adams and Randy Glasbergen for inspiration on jokes and visual puns. I also took inspiration for the look of my piece from these traditional cartoon layouts.
